TooFar Media publishes provocative stories for the eyes, ears, and imagination from the mind of Rich Shapero.

With the Toofar app each book becomes much more than words on a page. A gesture provides a gateway into music and animation that relates to the chapter you’re reading. It’s an innovative and immersive multimedia experience that I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in for several projects.

The process for each of these videos is to meticulously dissect the original photograph of the artwork, painting in behind each cutout portion, then repeating until I had the whole scene broken down into a hundred or so individual elements.

It was then a puzzle of animating backwards from the final frame - always the original supplied artwork - and finding the right timing and feeling to accompany the chosen visuals and audio.
